As the most popular time of the year to move, the summer is bustling with families packing up their belongings and moving into their brand new homes.
Summer is the busiest time of the year to move for several reasons:
Remember, this is the most popular season for movers, so book early! How much advanced notice should you give? We recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance to be on the safe side. But booking even further ahead could guarantee your spot.
Not surprisingly, the most popular summer days to move are on the weekends and during long holiday weekends like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Veterans Day. If possible, book your moving day on a weekday.
It’s hot out, and you’ll be moving around in the summer heat and breaking a sweat. To ensure that you, your team and your families (and your pets!) feel their best under the stress, make it a point to keep everybody hydrated. Having lots of cold water on hand goes a long way.
Now is not the time to layer your outfits or wear your favorite strappy sandals. Don't be a fashion victim. We recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing and sneakers.
The last thing you want is to get stuck in a hot house when you’re already beginning to overheat from moving your things around. If your AC isn’t ready to go yet, we recommend you have fans set up so you can chill out in your new home as best you can. We promise: you’ll thank us!
